What is it?

Microsoft actually explains this really well (surprisingly!). It calls Clipchamp a 'free video editing tool that everyone can use'. 

It's available to anyone with a Microsoft 365 subscription (yep, personal AND work). It allows you to create and edit professional videos, either on the desktop or on the web. Whether you are a seasoned content creator or a beginner, Clipchamp is a great tool to add to your toolkit.

So you know that it helps you make videos. Great. But what does that mean? Well, let's take a closer look at some of the features included, and you can make an informed decision about whether you want to get hands-on with this new program.

How to access Clipchamp

From your Personal subscription

Personal or Family subscriptions for Microsoft 365 will have the app included. You can access it via the web, or download the app to your computer and get started.

For work or school accounts

If you have a professional or education Microsoft 365 account, Clipchamp is available via the Microsoft 365 landing page (try www.office.com), or via the app on your desktop computer

**NOTE: At time of writing, Clipchamp's desktop app is only available for PC. For Apple users, there is a Clipchamp app for iPhone, but as iMovie is the standard video editing software, you will need to access Clipchamp via the web at this stage.

Either way - personal, business, or education - Clipchamp is integrated with your Microsoft 365 account, making it easy to upload existing content to build new videos, and to share and save to your connected OneDrive or Sharepoint folders.

Getting started

There's no time like the present! Creating and editing videos using Clipchamp is a breeze. You can start on a new project from the main page, or edit your exiting videos that are stored in OneDrive. 

Adding music, images, transitions and captions is seamless and all in one screen. It's all focussed on ensuring a hassle-free experience from start to finish.
